Some thoughts...

Over the last week, something was posted on FB that REALLY angered me! Now I can tell you one thing, It takes ALOT to get me that angry past the point of no return. There are many things in life I do not like, sometimes I voice my opinion, sometimes I don't.

The times that I will are:

- You do something to my family

- You disrespect me in any way

- You disrespect the military

If you disrespect either of those three things you will not like my reaction and I warn you now to STAY away from me! Now with that said, if you want to voice your opinion great, it is a FREE COUNTRY! But that freedom comes with it at a price!
Well this past week an "organization" realllllly disrespected the military! Now it has gotten me soooo FIRED UP past no return.

I understand if you don't like the war, some of us in the actual war don't either! But don't voice your opinion and talk crap if you've never been out here! Yes the US was attacked viciously on 9/11. As a military member and US citizen I was infuriorated, but I knew that when I raised my right hand in Feb 1997, Dec 2000, Feb 2005 and June 2010....I made a promise to SUPPORT and DEFEND the US from all enemies foreign and domestic. That will always be my mission until the day that I die! I've had choices at the end of each enlistment to stay or go. Obviously I stayed....because I will never abandon the US ever! While it sucks being out here in a combat zone, I know I am here to ensure the present and future freedom of the US..The FREEDOM to have the internet and speak our minds, the FREEDOM to live as we choose! But do not ABUSE your rights. What you see on tv is a "pretty picture" if you will of what life is like out here. But sometimes there is no happy ending. Just because you see it on tv or movies doesn't mean it will be soo great.
The face of war out here is scarier and more gory than ANY scary movie you will ever see! Because it is real out here. So when I hear people protesting the war, or picketting funerals for what reason??????? Yes we americans live in a free country but dammit, freedom is not free. How do you think the fallen SOLDIER, AIRMAN, SAILOR OR MARINES family feels? Come out here for a dam reality check!!!!! You can't walk to the DFAC or gym without seeing someone come out of the rehab facility with no left or right arm to be barely walking on crutches....or trying to run and you have to stop for a convoy who just got a vehicle blasted with blood STILL dripping off, or being all into your workout/work when at 1500 TAPS starts playing cos someone else got KIA!

Instead you choose to abuse your freedom to pickett a fallen military members funeral! Why don't you use your freedom to be constructive instead.....be there for the hurting family, send a care package to any soldier, airman, sailor or marine.....do something better with your time that protesting/picketting......
I can tell you one thing....there are americans out there that also have the freedom to burn your church down as free speech! Be careful ............you may upset the wrong greiving soldiers family.....

Insanity or Insane???

Am I insane or just ready for a good butt-kicking?? Not sure. :D Well this all started back in February.. I was working 12's in a phase 1 when i overheard some SNCO's talking about Insanity.. soon as i heard killer workout i popped my head upn and was given a quick brief. SO like any other workoutaholic i ran to the computer and googled Insanity. I was immediately excited.... yet scared to try this new workout as i have tons of workout videos. However we had just purchased a new 47 in tv...
and was excited to work it out. I ordered the set along with the Hip Hop ABS (also with Shaun T)...Out of all the workout vids i own i absolutely love the ones with Shaun T. He is motivating, a good instructor and hot. Well the box with Insanity and HHA came...and i felt intimidated. So i started doing the HHA every morning. I was addicted.Fast forward to two weeks ago on a friday...i was in our main bldg and the CC's secretary waddles by like she is sore. SHe said she was doing Insanity. Right then and there i stopped being scared and started that night. So now i am on day 13..and LOVING IT! ***DISCLAIMER- do not use Insanity if you have knee, ankle injuries************This workout is NO JOKE. It is super intense, high intensity. You will sweat your butt off. My heartrate is constant in the 130-140's (which is 70-85%). I love it. Before Insanity I hated getting up before 6 am to workout. But now i am up at 5 to get my insanity done. There have been times when i have done the workouts twice in one day. The great thing about this workout is there is no equipment, you dont need alot of room(i did this in a tiny space in a hotel room). You just have to be ready to work it out. My work clothes and regular clothes are swimming on me. My body has tightened up all over. One guy at my gym does it and lost 20 lbs in the first 3 weeks. Since i have alot of muscle i dont notice a big weight difference. BUT my clothes are 3 times too big on me. Dresses i havent worn in a year are too big. Even my shoe size went down a size. As far as eating goes, the Insanity package comes with a nutrition booklet that breaks down how many calories you need to eat while doing the workout program. It also gives you recipes and options of what to eat at each meal (5 meals total). The only suggestion i would make is dont eat right before you do any of the workouts. As a distance runner, i thought this might kill me. BUt it has actually helped me with my endurance and made me a little faster. Also, every morning after my Insanity workout i go to PT and run sprints/up to 3 miles everyday. I will post a review of each video by the weekend. I wanted to do my new one today first (Cardio Abs). That's it...for now! If you have any questions....please feel free to comment or shoot me an email. :D

USAF MARATHON 2009...dedicated to my grandma!

The time has come to run another race....my fave run..the Air Force Marathon on 19 Sept 09!
I can not tell you how very excited I am. However I am very nervous. I even went to my local
Fleet Feet Sports in Columbia for moral support (LOL) but only my fellow marathon runners
will know what I am feeling. I sorta have the nervousness you get when you are about to take a big test. I am not doing this race to place. Lord no. Just to run it for the love I have of running.
But this time I am running it in honor of my beautiful grandmother Marion who passed away of lung cancer when I was deployed this past February. She was always there for me. When she died the only thing that got me through was running. I feel like running this marathon is a perfect way to honor her and my love for her.
This race would not be possible without the support of my family and the great leadership I have at my base. My superiors let me take extra time everyday and come in late so I could train at my favorite running trail....
But in all honesty, I am just ready for it to be here already! I am excited! I love the base it is held at--Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. It is beautiful.
I will put up a full race report next weekend! I will try to update through the weekend as I am driving up on Thursday (almost 10 hrs!) and then heading home next Sunday.

My lagging motivation has been kicked to the curb!

Haven't blogged in a while. I guess life has kept me busy. LOL....
But i wanted to come by and tell you all about 3 amazing workout dvd's I bought over the weekend, they are all by Jillian Michaels..
1. 30 day Shred - Consists of 3 levels. I did level one on Tuesday. Very good and intense. I was sweating like crazy. I wasnt too sore yesterday either. I can not wait to do it again.
2. Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism - This one is amazing! A whole body workout! I did it today for the first time. She KICKED my butie! i was exhausted afterward, the whole time i was cursing her out. But loving it at the same time. It was about an hour total.
3. No more trouble zones -  I have not done this one yet! But i will by the weekend and update everyone! I am sure its as good as the other two.
If you need to make a change in your workout, i HIGHLY recommend her dvd's! I bought them at Target for $15 each. They were well worth it. If you want to see small part of it go to the following link to check them out:

Sometimes life throws you lemons.....

Last July i was sent to CST (combat skills training) in Wisconsin for a month then straight over to Balad, Iraq from there. It was a last minute tasking as I only had two weeks to get my gear, pack up and leave to CST. It was not a fun thing! It was very painful to leave my husband and two sons. Especially the baby who was only 11 months old at the time. But i had no choice. There were sooo many ups and downs. Being in that type of environment does make you appreciate and value the lives we have in the US. Some of you may be rolling your eyes....Yes the US is in rough economic times.....but we can go out and do as we please! We dont live in filth, walk a mile to a shower only to walk back to your CHU and be dirty again with the wind and sand blowing. Or walk around the corner to use a porta potty cos the regular bathrooms are too far or that maybe all their is.  Maybe its good that we are going through this recession, so people become more appreciative of the life they have instead of complaining of what we dont have. I know i use to be like that. I know that the 7 months i lived in Iraq were very eye-opening and inspiring. Instead of looking at the glass half empty i am thankful it is half FULL!
Case in point.......in February of this year (a month before i was due home) my husband found out he was deploying to Afghanistan and would be leaving BEFORE  i returned home. Of course i am pissed at the AF.....but seriously we have to be thankful. Since this recession has started millions of people are being laid off their jobs....my husband and I have had the opportunity to travel and work in another country and make a good chunk of money for our future. I do miss him like crazy. I am hurt that the AF didn't at least let him stay long enough to see me come in. But i was able to take leave last week and go see him in New Jersey before he deployed. It was a good visit.
We as a country have to come together to find the flowers among the weeds. Everyday is a struggle for me to find the good things, but it could be worse. I could be back in Iraq, wearing PT gear or ABU's, eating DFAC food, working everyday with no days off, praying every night that a mortar won't hit my CHU tonight so i can make it home alive.
So when i get lemons, i need to make lemonade!!!!
